The Merlot has been cultivated in Veneto and Friuli since the middle of the nineteenth century and has by now become naturally acclimatized to this area which produces smooth, full-bodied wines of unmatched quality that are excellent as an accompaniment for the typical seasoned dishes traditional around these parts.

These are the last of the red grapes to be harvested. After crushing, the marcs are left to macerate in contact with the musts for 4-5 days in large steel vats at 26°C. Malolactic fermentation is carried out and the wine is placed in 35 hectoliter casks for approximately 4 months. An in-bottle refining stage follows, which lasts at least 3 months.


The color is an intense ruby red with soft purplish shades. The generous bouquet produces notes that recall red-berried fruit, in particular the mulberry, complemented by a just perceptible spicy note that endows the quality of complexity. On the palate the taste is enticing, rounded, warm and caressing. Pleasing and elegant, with long-lasting notes of ripe fruit.


Typical cold cuts of the Fiuli farming community traditions, excellent also with first courses or delicate meat dishes and fresh or medium mature cheeses.
